But how young is too young? The standard age set for Rated-R films by the MPAA is 17 and up, but if they're accompanied by a parent or guardian, a child of any age is permitted into the theater.

AMC Requires Adult Supervision For Guests Under 17 in R-Rated Movies. AMC policies specific to R-Rated titles include children under 6 are not allowed at R-Rated movies after 6pm at any theatre. Guests under 17 must be accompanied by a guardian who is 21 or older.

Demon Slayer has earned a second R-rated movie in the United States. The movie was given a restricted rating thanks to its bloody images and violence. This rating is also the second one as such given to Demon Slayer as the anime's first movie, Mugen Train, was rated R for similar reasons.

Now, Plane is still a violent action thriller intended for adult audiences. There are repeated on-screen deaths, with a healthy side serving of 32 f-bombs. Family entertainment this ain't – although there are no depictions of drug use or sexual content, which is somewhat remarkable in and of itself.

The term "B movie" is now used for any film that's made with limited resources. But cheap doesn't mean bad, so while some of these movies are pretty rough, others did incredible things with small budgets. One thing they all have in common, though, is that they're entertaining as hell.

An R rating is roughly equivalent to a “15” in the UK, although age ratings for any one film vary depending on the discretion of each country's ratings bodies. A PG-13, meanwhile, is considered more or less equivalent to a “12A” in the UK.

It's also always leaned into its R rating, and that's true for the most recent addition to the franchise, "Scream 6." Now that the movie is on Paramount+ as well as other digital platforms, it's easier than ever for kids and teens to watch it, which may have parents asking why is "Scream 6" rated R.
